Welcome Back to Write on Bowen

About the Write on Bowen Festival Society

The Write On Bowen Festival Society was recently established, with a mandate to coordinate literary events on Bowen Island, including an annual festival of readers and writers, support and promote local authors and writers and their work, and build awareness about the literary heritage of the local community. The Society is led by a Board of Directors, including Carol Cram, Festival Artistic Director and Jacqueline Massey, Festival Manager.

The keystone activity of the Society is the annual Write on Bowen Festival of Readers & Writers. 2023 will be the seventh festival of the literary and spoken word on the island. The Festival is possible only thanks to a mighty volunteer team, along with our sponsors, the Hearth, Arts on Bowen and the Bowen Island Public Library, to whom we are grateful. We are also thankful to the BC Arts Council for its support.

We look forward to greeting you on Bowen Island!

Write on Bowen strives to feature a diversity of workshop facilitators from both Bowen Island and off-island. To promote diversity, inclusion, and access, we are committed to providing opportunities for marginalized and equity-deserving communities. Facilitators and presenters who have not been featured in previous years will be given priority.
